It's somewhat messy to have .srt files in the same folder as the video files.

So the suggestion is to be able to read .srt files from one folder level down. Could be one of the following:
- a quick read of all folders that are one level down from the video file being opened
- or a read of the folder name specified by the user (eg read folder called My SRT files) and the specified folder name should be changeable.

I think VSFilter already has had that for ages with the Paths setting screen in its settings, and so does MPC-HC's internal subtitle renderer, which is based on the aforementioned.

Ah, nice! Just checked it out.

Is there a way to have MPC-HC dynamically identify folders with subtitles?
Meaning I could have one folder called "subs1" and another folder called "subs2".

Would this work properly and not cause hidden performance/lag issues?
