Some problems: Subtitles / Crashes / Fluidity
« on: February 28, 2011, 12:35:13 PM »

Hi guys, I'm having some issues using the CCCP pack.

I work on a HP 8740w with Windows 7 64bit.

I'm trying to play .mkv videos but either player give me a different problem.
Just to be clear, I'm sorry if my english is quite strange as it is not my first language, I'm italian.

MP Home cinema play the video flawlessy but does NOT show any subtitle on it, while VLC does show flawless subtitles but restart the video (exactly) after some minutes/seconds of playback.

Do you have any ideas?

p.s.: this problem has the maximum priority but I have another question, I have the CoreAVC codec installed and I checked it in the CCCP Options.
So.. Is it useful then to apply it in the preferences of mplayer home cinema as an external prefered filter? Does this change something or create problem/boosts to what the CCCP checker does?

By the way, these problems still are at the top of my insterest. ;[

Make sure to have followed the instructions to install CoreAVC with CCCP below:
www.cccp-project.net/wiki/index.php?title=CoreAVC

If you did not do that then please re-install CCCP and CoreAVC.

After, close Media Player Classic Homecinema and please do a reset of settings using the CCCP Settings application. (Start-> CCCP-> Settings-> Next-> tick reset and re-register-> Apply-> Yes-> Yes)

DirectVobSub(auto-loading version) should appear by itself in the External Filters list in Media Player Classic Homecinema the next time you open it. Note that CCCP components have no effect on VLC Player.

When asking for help, please do the following:
1. Open the video in MPC-HC and tell me what items are listed in the menu: 'Play-> Filters.'
Download the CCCP Insurgent and:
2. Tools > Media Information > "problem file"
3. Tools > Test Render > "problem file"
4. Tools > CRC Check > "problem file"
5. File > Save Log
6. Open the log you just saved in Notepad and copy the entire contents into your next post.

It works, perfectly.
I really thank you for the support, but.. I'd love to be able to understand better these mechanics by myself: do the F.A.Q. instruct enough or can you tell me any place when can I study this a little? Being my work Compositing/Editing Video is a great interest and must, for me.
