Green Tint problem With AVI in MP and ZP
« on: March 27, 2007, 05:10:49 AM »
I currently am using CCCP Vista/XP/2K/9x/ME Release! (2007-02-22) with vista business.

I get a green tint during certain animes when it shouldnt be green for AVI files.

Heres a list of a few animes that cause it :
  • A Little Snow Fairy Sugar
  • Mahoromatic

There is a few more though does anyone have the same problem? It only happens in zoom + media player that comes with the pack.

Along with a Media Information, and all in a nicely packaged log saved from Insurgent.

BTW, why do some people think that a series title will carry any useful information?

Download CCCP Insurgent and do (and post the log in this forum):
1. Tools > Test Render > "the Problematic File"
2. Tools > Media Information > "the Problematic File"
3. Tools > CRC Check > "the Problematic File"
4. File > Save Log > paste the log here

And the reason for posting the animes is because some may have had similar problems with the AVI files of those animes.

Then I ask, does asking a rhetorical question in an assish way solve anything?

Heres the stuff.
1. File > Save Log > paste the log here

well, the videos are WMV, which are always somewhat strange. Are all the problem files WMV video?

Ahh fun ye olde KAA encodes. Well I would hope the problem wouldn't be Vista video drivers :(. But first, can you describe in more detail the green tint. Is it a painfully obvious green over everything? Or something somewhat faint? Again as checkers asked, is it all files? Or possibly only those with WMV video? Thus we can know if it is a general video displaying problem, or something specific with WMV.

The only thing I can currently think of is possibly trying to change the video renderer. Currently under Vista it should be set to VMR7 (windowed) in MPC/ZP. Trying the others may result in something better.

You seem to be missing that just a title by itself won't really help much in identifying any files.

Otherwise first check your video driver's settings (if any) and look for WMV related options there, or if that does not help try disabling acceleration in one of the ways described here.

The green tint itself, is a painfully obvious tint, skin color is green, sky colors are green, everything is a shade of green for these type of files. Some colors do stay intact, though they are not original more just green. How do I set it VMR7 (windowed) I have no idea what that means.

I tried the "Possible To Stop dxva_sig.txt Being Created?" doesn't work.

Its WMV type? Hmm, says avi when I right click it. MPC plays avis ok, though just not a few of these types of videos.

And it does seem to have a trend in certain KAA productions.

How do I set it VMR7 (windowed) I have no idea what that means.

Depends on which player you use. For Media Player Classic, just go to View --> Options --> Playback --> Output

Then look in the list to the left where it says Directshow Video. By default it should be set to Overlay Mixer, try choosing the different renderers through the different VMR modes and Haali's and restart the player each time to check the video.

If you're using Zoomplayer you can do it by right clicking and selecting Options / Setup. Then go to Playback --> Audio / Video. In their you can switch renderer through the dropdown box. Try the various VMR modes/Haali/Overlay if not already set as default.

Ah it was already set to VMR7 (windowed). I tried all of them including the Haali's one. The only one that worked though could not full screen was VMR7 (renderless) it was not able to do full screen, it could do normal screen size just not full.

I'm positive someone (IJ?) mentioned something about the Intel video drivers once for onboard video, and going back from some specific evil new version was required in some instance.
* Nicholi can't think of anything else currently.
