imageshack.us should be able to handle your 1920x1080 screenshots.

I don't quite see what you mean by stretched pixels. It's up to you if you want to sharpen or deblock or both.

Did you know that you can change the video resizer in madVR settings? Try change it to spline3 or softcubic50.

This is a Xvid video - 704x400 resolution


This is a h264.AAC video - 720x480 resolution

Notice how the above picture has really good quality design for this particular scene, but looks terrible because of the stretching of the pixels.


MPEG4 (h264) - 1080x720

Not exactly fair to compare the other 2 with this show, but the difference is ridiculous in my opinion. Mind that these pictures aren't shown in full screen (not sure how to set that up with photobucket) so the quality would be that much more noticeable.

Also if you could suggest a better photo uploading site, then I could give you the 1920x1080 of these pictures (if needed).

Could you post a screenshot? I use CCCP (MPC-HC with EVR and LAV video decoder - switched from madVR to plain "EVR" for faster seeking in videos) and it is fine.

Also, what are the files that you are trying to play?

Ok that worked. Found out that even after all the proper settings with ffdshow, I still have a really bad picture and the change is little to none if not actually worse (used a reliable guide). I guess there is just no way to make a 704x400 video have any greater quality when stretched. How do you personally watch very low rest videos? just set to normal size in MPC? I use a 42 inch 1080p tv so maby I just notice the pixels that much more.

Enable the decoders that you want to process in ffdshow video configuration and disable the same in lav video decoder settings, or add ffdshow raw video decoder in MPC-HC's External Filters list if you want to postprocess everything.

LAV video decoder doesn't have the same capabilities that ffdshow video decoder has for improving lower resolution videos. The only reason I'm trying to add ffdshow video decoder is to improve older shows that are mostly 480p or 720p. I had the right settings for ffdshow before, but I recently formatted my computer and now I'm very confused on how to get them back to where they were. I like to watch videos in full screen, stretched, but the current settings don't compensate for the blurriness and pixilation for the change resolution to 1920x1080.

Also what do you mean by step five? the bonus step about adding ffdshow? I did exactly as it says but it doesn't affect which videos use ffdshow. I even tried changing the merit up all the way to "always use" but ffdshow still doesn't come up when I play any form of video.

See step five in the guide that you linked. Also, I see no real reason for using ffdshow video decoder over LAV video decoder.

The guide that you linked only sets ffdshow audio decoder to be used not ffdshow video decoder.

no matter what I do, ffdshow video decoder wont work on my MPC. ffdshow audio works, but ffdshow video wont show up on the icon bar or the filters.

So I have k-lite codec pack installed
madVR installed
Halli media splitter installed
and LAV filters installed
I know for sure these settings are exactly like the guide asked, but ffdshow wont work any format of video I use.

Specs:
Windows 7 - 64 bit
MPC HC - 32 bit
ffdshow - 32 bit

Filters:
default directsound device
MadVR Renderer
audio switcher
LAV video decoder
ffdshow audio decoder
Halli Media source
